Can't physically give it zero stars and can't understand how it got it's safety certificate,
This review is from: Russell Hobbs 18953 Colours Toaster - Cream (Kitchen & Home)
Bought the toaster/Kettle combo (admittedly from another seller) but felt I had to add my tuppence on the toaster. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!
The only thing it toasts well is your fingertips on the casing.
It really does get too hot to touch on both the upper areas of the cream panels but also all over the chrome.
When you try and pop up something small like a crumpet, or stuck you naturally use the edge of the case to hold down the unit... big mistake. Very badly burnt fingertips.
To add insult to injury the item inside was warm but certainly not crisp or brown
Thought it might have been a faulty unit (perhaps they fitted the elements in the wrong way round), but the replacement does exactly the same and then I found these reviews.
I can't stress enough.... THESE ARE DANGEROUS.
I will be writing to the people who pass items as safe!

Mr. L. Hart says:
I would personally expect that from any toaster.

Jon Clawley says:
Totally agree, bad design and I have not experienced that problem with other toasters.
Obviously has never actually been tested with a set of realistic "toasting scenarios"(!) before being rushed to market.
Like you, I have the same Kettle and when our toaster went kapput, it seemed like a nice idea to get the set - should have read the reviews more carefully!
Takes all the pleasure out of toasting! :)

Sorry, not sure you what you would expect from any toaster.... this one does a fantastic job of heating its casing, but barely warms (let alone actually toasts) the item to be toasted

Great for toasting. I burnt my thumb on the red hot chrome casing. Very dangerous product. Never had this problem with my 10 year old budget toaster. I'm returning it for a full refund.

You haven't tried many toasters then. I haven't been burnt once with my old 8 year old budget toaster.
