1080p DVD player for CRT Projector,
This review is from: Samsung DVD-1080P7 - DVD Player With HDMI 1080P Upscaling (Electronics)Having used Samsung DVD player, the 1080p is not much of an advantage over the 720p, mainly because you can only scale up so much regardless the higher resolution! The 1080p did stand out better with graphics and lettering while using the DVD menu etc. My DVD player did have a problem loading DVDs and I could not get it to play no matter what. Then the next day it would play fine with the same disc! I have posted my player back for an exchange and hope the problem will not happen again. For 1080p, it is a good value player. Quality could be better and some basic 720p players are better but prepare to pay more. This is ideal if wantng a 1080p upscaler until you buy your true HD player. You don't want to spend too much for a 1080p player, as they will all be outdated when the true HD DVD players come down in price (not too long now as blue ray is losing the HD market).

Ian Sanderson says:
That's certainly the way the marketplace seems to be going now - HD seems destined to become the new Betamax....
