4.0 out of 5 stars JUST WATCH TWO...!, 10 Mar 2012
This review is from: Hostel - Part I-III Box Set [DVD] (DVD)
Quentin Tarantino produced the first two, which are STUNNING!

Unfortunately, he didn't produce the third and it shows.

An intrigueing and masterful story of European horror is turned into a cliched "violent romp" around Las Vegas, with good guys, bad guys and RANDOM twists; just like any "10 a penny" cheap teen horror flick.

"Yeah, its an 'ultra violent' GAME SHOW in LAS VEGAS"
Where have I heard that before?
But the 'ultra violence' extends to a pathetic "Death by Bush Tucker Trial".

Need I say more?

COME BACK QUENTIN. A potentially great franchise is dead without you!

M. Hannon says:
Censorship problems in Europe? Do you know ANYTHING about Europe? I guess you're stuck in the land where adults can't even say the word "cock" on TV etc. etc. etc. thanks to your right wing, christian politics.
But of course, you don't mind hijacking world resources and supporting TERRORIST NATIONS
with colonialist ambitions, like Israel!

Go do some learning RE: Europe and HUMAN DECENCY. You have it the wrong way round.
Colonialist murder is WRONG!
Using bad language on TV is FINE!
America thinks murder is FINE,
But cursing on TV is a moral outrage.
See, you have it the wrong way round there!
Go read a book!

i own both directors cuts of parts one and two and for me part one is an excercise in torture tease which frustrated the heck out of me. part 2 scared, appaulled the ("F" in) hell-batcrap out of me, making it for me a forbidden adults only classic in super-ultra-splatter/ gore/horror only for the most jaded horror film fan and i rate it in league with olaf ittenbach(the burning moon) and yoshihiro nishimura(tokyo gore police) level of cinematic insanity. horror like these needs to brought back into swing.

i am so darningly fed-up with the all too boring horror (tech/script/culturally pc)-updated remake craze. i only own the steven miner remake of day of the dead which i found to be decent, and the remake of friday the 13th killer cut(not a sequel!). prepare for friday/13th 2015, better be kane hodder as jason and a worthy writer, producer, director or i am going to be extremely angry at new line and/or paramount for letting us jason fanatics down.
