A nice cross between folk rock (think Fairport, Jethro Tull and Steeleye Span)and west coast style jamming. This is a good CD but not quite the finished article. The singer has a good melodic voice but it lacks variety and power. This is also a failing when they perform live - see below. There is a nice blend of modern and traditional songs but in places the links between vocals and instrumental passages sound a bit disjointed. I have hopes that this band will deliver in the future.
I saw them in Leeds on January 14 2011. The vocals were the same - nice voice; but one paced and lacking power and depth. Not even sure a bit more volume on the microphone would have solved the problem. But the instrumental passages were truly excellent. Shades of John Cipollina and Quicksilver - I thought at one moment they were going to go into Who Do you love. Sharp playing and a wonderful relationship between the bass and the lead guitar. Shades also of the wonderful interplay between Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady at their peak. Definitely a band to see and one to look out for if they can capture the energy of their live performance on disc.
