WHERE IT ALL BEGAN,
This review is from: Only What I Feel (Audio CD)
Patty Loveless is not a familiar name amongst UK music followers. When you ask anyone to name a female C&W recording artist, probably Dolly Parton would be the first and most times the only one they know. Some older people would mention Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn or even Crystal Gayle. There are so many very talented artistes with great voices, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Suzy Bogguss, Lorrie Morgan, Roseanne Cash, Carlene Carter, Pam Tillis, Sylvia, Lee Ann Womack and Patty Loveless, to name but a few.
This 10 track CD, released in 1993, was the first (I believe) by Patty Loveless, and what a fine debut. Filled with mostly poignant tracks, Patty is able to sing in an almost heart-achingly forlorn manner. One uptempo track I particularly like is "Blame It On Your Heart", with its tongue-twisting physically exhausting lyrics, well it was for me, anyway! Patty has never made anything approaching a `bad` record and If you read this I hope you will go on and listen to her later recordings, every CD is better than the last.
Her voice coupled with superb arrangements and accompaniments, make this CD a must to buy.
