Excellent guide for those of us who need some reliable information on these things .
I keep hoping to find a book that will give me some idea of the prospects for a very talented 19 year old who has the great misfortune to find himself afflicted with some variant of this condition . So far he has taken a year out between school and University because of his illness and now he has had to withdraw and take another year off ... 2 years is a long time in the lifeof a 19/20 year old trying to move towards independence .
Since these illnesses so often afflict this age group there is a great need for a book that deals rather as Patrick & Henry Cockburn do with Henry's story .
I find myself thinking of Henry several times a day .
Perhaps I'll write something myself as my experience ( so far ) is not comparable to Patrick's .. and I'm guessing there must be many people out there who might find an up to date first hand account to be useful .

Believe me it's better to be diagnosed early and get help than struggle through life. There is a better range of useful medications now to treat episodes.
