IF YOU LIKE SICK FILMS THEN YOU WILL LIKE THIS...,
This review is from: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre [DVD] (DVD)
Now if i was to be really critial about this movie id start by saying:-
That with a budget many times that of the 1974 drive-in classic it's based upon, Marcus Nispel's "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" delivers proportionately fewer thrills and no discernible suspense. It is, instead, a long march to the slaughterhouse that seems to take forever to get going and, once it does, goes nowhere that hasn't been visited before by more talented filmmakers. The plot, such as it is, kicks in when a van full of early 70's hippies stumbles into the remote farmhouse owned by the Hooper clan -- crazed rednecks who, in the original version, represented a nightmare vision of Richard Nixon's Middle America, but who here represent little other than stereotypes in the service of sadism. This is a blunt and graphic gore film, replete with close-ups of splattered brain matter and twitching severed limbs, that is approximately as much fun as sitting in on an autopsy...
Now that's me talking from a die hard horror fan.. i prefer suspence in my horrors.
now this film is by no means terrible,it's just not what i would consider very good 'SARCASM' LOL but all in all it's entertaining in a slashing limbs and heads off kind of way, and it has got some good thing's the acting isnt to bad, and it is 'scary' it will make you jump, and if your a fella looking for a film u can watch with the mrs then this film may suit u, as it will scare your g.f / wife /friend what ever. and make her cling to you like a fly to poo, unless she is intelligent then she will think what a load of crap lol never the less ive seen worse horror's in my 20+ year's on this earth and this is by no means the worst, so i recommend this film as it is cheap and as i expected this film to be all gore with little suspence i wasnt dissapointed...
