2.0 out of 5 stars "GENUINE" ????, 10 Sep 2011
This review is from: Replacement Charger For Toshiba 19V - 3.95A Original Laptop Adapter / Charger - Includes UK Power Cord - PA-3715E-1AC3 PA-3468U-1ACA PA3468E-1AC3 PA-1750-29 PA-1750-04 PA-1750-09
BEWARE, the product that was delivered to me is not the one shown in the display picture.the reasoned i bought this replacement adaptor and not one of the cheaper branded ones was because i thought it was a "genuine toshiba" branded ac adaptor. i was mistaken however, and is made by a brand named "delta electronics inc." Absolutely nowhere on the product does it say "toshiba." 2 stars only because it does actually work, delivery time was great, and i am willing to try it out. BUT if you do want a genuine toshiba branded laptop replacement charger, LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Just to clear up some misconceptions here: If you look at the original Toshiba adapter supplied with your laptop, you will almost certainly see Delta Electronics printed on the label somewhere. Toshiba don't make their own transformers, and nor does any other laptop manufacturer. They always use one of a number of reputable Taiwanese manufacturers, of which Delta is one, LiteOn and HiPro being others. All three are of good quality, and all three may re-brand their products to match the laptops that they are being sold with. While the replacement being sold by this seller here may not carry Toshiba branding, you will see that the Delta model number is likely to be the same as that which was supplied with your laptop.
This is certainly the case with Delta PSUs which I have bought for Toshiba laptops in the past. The product is pretty much identical in all other respects, such as weight, casing, the strain relief and ferrite core on the cable, texture of the plastic and the rest of the label.

Stevealot says:
..But not sanctioned by Toshiba. I want original manufacturer labelled equipment. Thanks you original commentor for pointing out this does'nt have Toshiba trademark who knows what it is or where its come from.

Why does it need to be sanctioned by Toshiba? Apart from inevitably increasing the price through a likely markup by Toshiba, what would that Toshiba branding achieve? You are still receiving an identical or near-identical product, to the same specification.

J S "Dasher" says:
Very late to this discussion but in reply to Stevealot and the op, J.W. Henderson is absolutely correct in everything he has said. Delta produce the original equipment chargers supplied in the box by Toshiba and other manufacturers including Dell. Because of this you are buying the original part except labelled with Delta Electronics' own logo instead of Toshiba's, more than likely allowing them to sell their products separately through their own distribution and retail channels such as here on Amazon. I can confirm this with the Toshiba laptops I've personally worked with at a charity providing IT support, the Tosh branded chargers are made by D.E with one also made by LiteOn. 'Sanctioned by Toshiba' is a fair point, however research on the internet will confirm the company's authenticity and illustrate J.W's response; do not worry if the charger you receive is labelled Delta instead of Toshiba, at the current price at time of writing (not sure if allowed to give it!) this is a definite bargain.
