This review is from: We Need To Talk About Kevin (Paperback)
The way this book takes you into the mind of a mother - and starts you wondering whose fault her son's murders are - is completely and utterly captivating. The son, Kevin, has gone on a shooting spree at school. Eva, the mum, is writing to her estranged husband to work out: is it my fault, or yours, or his? Through her letters we get the story. The writing is amazing. You're there with the mother as she tries to bring up an impossible child; when she hears the spree has happened; and then, later, when she goes to visit Kevin in prison. The twist at the end leaves you breathless. Can't recommend this novel highly enough. Electrifying.
