A better compilation if you please,
This review is from: Network - The Box Set (Audio CD)
I appreciate the early stuff as much as the next person. BUT there were so many more better tracks that I know are there somewhere amongst the full on Network discography. I am thinking about the period that I was a Raver that being 1990-95 and then Jungle drum n bass afterwards. I personally own a few of those 12" records. Reading the notes in the disc box the owners of network say a lot about pre 90's rave music and then seem to be all wrapped up in Altern8 and making them into a pop group, which is what they are/were-anyway. If like me you prefered the more underground sound of 1990 then you remember that as well as releasing a lot of blinding tunes Network released some extremely dodgy tunes as well? On this compilation after the first CD it pretty much goes downhill it is as if the compilers are just a bunch of posers more concerned about being trendy or perhaps just poking their toes in the 88 scene stream/sewer~I jest with you~ thing and thinking that image is everything-oh I really can not be bothered to go any further, so much as to say I personally was disappointed. Yours, Take With Acid. PS for the closest thing to 90's RAVE try Warp + 10 etc.
