1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle edition not easy to navigate, 21 Dec 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The London Encyclopaedia (3rd Edition) (Kindle Edition)
This is a wonderful encyclopedia but the kindle edtion is very difficult to navigate: the table of contents only gives you the letters of the alphabet so that you can go to A or B or C etc but then you have to very patiently turn the pages one by one until you get to say 'Eton'. For that you can either go to E and work your way forward, or to F and go backwards... Yes, there is a search option (on your kindle, but not on Kindle for ipad...) but when you enter Eton College Road it comes up with all the entries where those words appear and there you are again forever turnning pages... A real shame.

Re Kindle edition - Absolutely agree with the comments above. It is impossible to use as a reference book which is what an encyclopedia should be. Can only be used by reading through it from A to Z. It is impossible to go straight to an entry either by using index or search button which just brings up all references in the book with no pointer as to which is the main section. A waste of money
