This review is from: SanDisk SDCZ40-016G-U46 16 GB Ultra Back-Up USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Electronics)
I bought this memory stick for my second year of university and was not impressed at all.
Before this I had an 8gb Sandisk Cruzer Blade, I liked the memory stick (I still have it kicking around somewhere) but 8gb got filled up far too quickly with large files. So after being impressed with my previous flash drive I bought this one, at 16gb for around £17 (I think i paid) it was great value for money, and when I first got it I was very impressed, however after a few months of using this I was severly disappointed. I have found no problems with the memory stick itself, the backup feature was very useful but the build quality is hourrendous, the cruzer is much better built. The actual usb connection has bent many times as I have nudged it accidentally and I am very surprised it hasnt snapped off, I have also noticed the casing has started to become loose and the finish of materials is very poor, it feels cheap and nasty and has no weight to it. I feel sorry for anybody who spent the RRP of £50 on this.
I am going to get a corsair survivor instead as this seems to be able to take the rough and tumble that the sandisk just simply does not.
I will say that If you know you are going to look after this flash drive and want a backup feature and 16gb pretty cheap, this is good, I have had no problems with sandisk in the past and have had a few USB sticks and SD cards from them, it just doesnt live up the expectations I had of it and ultimitly was a dissapointment.
In short worth it if you aren't clumsy, but will not take the rough and tumble of every day use.
