This review is from: No Going Back (Joe Hunter 7) (Hardcover)
After all the books by Matt Hilton, 'potential' is not a word I should be using but after a decent start I feel his books have plateaued. The obvious comparison that most make is with Lee Childs, Jack Reacher and although these have also plateaued, they have done so at a higher level. It is, as always, a pacy book that keeps you interested and reading but the writing has got 'loose' and predictable. Ideally I would like Matt to reappraise where he is going with his hero and tighten up the storylines and build a little more into the character, Joe Hunter. He is in danger, in my opinion, of turning the books into pulp style fiction.
