An unusual detective,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Ghosts in the Snow (Bantam Spectra Book) (Mass Market Paperback)
The main character in this book suffers a very unusual 'curse' and the author has done a great job of making me believe in him. The characterisation throughout the novel is good, with little in the way of stereotypes at all - just good, solid people you might meet in any barony in the middle ages.
The plotline is also good. I'm very critical of dodgy plots and didn't find myself thinking "Oh, come on!" at any point during the novel *grins*
It was an easy read with good action, dialogue and (the important part for a crime fan like me) good forensic deductions using the available technology.
I actually guessed the culprit at about the same time the main character did as just enough information is provided for us armchair sleuths.
Well worth the purchase price and I bought the second book immediately after.
