I've been lucky enough to hear a preview of this album, and am simply stunned. It is the best thing I've heard this year by by miles. Actually for several years. Every track is superb. It really demonstrates what peerless songsmiths Killing Joke are. It is up there with the very best of their previous output and as a complete work is probably their finest. Buy this as soon as it's released. I will be...

Killing joke were a band i would have ignorantly never touched had a review not appeared in metal hammer. Their glowing review made me order it straight away and i was more than happy. A great album i must say, however, what i need to know next is: are their other albums as good, if so what do you recommend? Thanks.

It depends on what sort of music you like. Killing Joke have been going since 1978, and their albums reflect their progress and changes of musical direction over that time. If you are looking for more metal, then Killing Joke (2003) is an album you'd like (Dave Grohl played drums on it) as would MMXII, which is similar to Absolute Dissent. Hosannahs from the Basement of Hell is similar in style, but the production is quite poor, which spoils the album for me. A more tuneful album would be Night Time - one of my favourites. I also like the minimalism of the first Killing Joke Album (1980) and What's This For. Pandemonium and Democracy are two albums with some great songs - sometimes Eastern influenced, Personally I would avoid the other albums unless you really get to like the band, as they are something of an acquired taste!

Many thanks for the recommendations. Im just getting my teeth into mmxii and am already blown away. Think i'll go for the eponymously titled one next before probably getting the lot. Thanks again.
