top gear meets agatha christie,
This review is from: Max Warp (Doctor Who: The New Eighth Doctor Adventures) (Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor Adventures) (Audio CD)
second in the latest series of audio plays to feature paul mcgann's doctor who and his current companion, sheridan smith playing feisty no nonsense lancastrian teenager lucie miller.
This, like the others in the range, is a complete story told in forty five minutes, and comes on a single cd. the rest of the cd [it runs an hour in total] contains interviews with the cast and crew, a trailer for the next story, and a couple of tracks giving the music from it on it's own. these two tracks are best described as interesting.
In this story the doctor and lucie arrive on an alien world as a spaceship is being tested as part of a tv show. this is a parody of the bbc car show top gear, and former goodies star graeme garden does a very good job playing the host. when a murderer strikes, the doctor and lucie turn detectives. can they find the killer, and prevent intergalactic war?
A hugely entertaining little story, with lots of comedy that arises from the characters and how they interact. thus there are several genuine laugh out loud moments. All the cast are very good and bring some good depth to their roles, and there are some clever twists and turns to the plot. come the solution, you will be surprised. but the clues are there.
A great little story, well up to the standard of this range
