Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: ASUS M80TA-DL001H 8.0-inch VivoTab Note 8 Tablet (Intel Atom Z3740 1.33GHz Processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB eMMC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Webcam, Built-in Speaker, Microphone, Touch Screen, Windows 8.1) (Personal Computers)
I’ve had the tablet a month and considering the mixed reviews on Amazon wanted to add another view. As another reviewer experienced, the first tablet I received had a dead zone on the screen where neither touch nor the digitizer worked. Sent it back to Amazon and a replacement was with me in two days. This one works as it should.
Key pros to this tablet:
-Full Windows so runs Office (yes, Office is included). Can work at home, sync via One Drive and continue working on the documents on the tablet
-Digitizer is essential if you want to use Office on a small tablet. Trying to use the Office menus, even with the option of the larger icons, would be next to impossible without the digitizer
-Speed. Tablet is surprisingly quick considering the size and weight. OK, it’s not as fast as my i5 based desktop but for browsing and Email/Word/Excel/PowerPoint it is absolutely fine
-Screen is excellent. The pixel count may be relatively low compared to iPad/Android tablets but text is very clear. Maybe a retina-type display is better for films (I don’t use the tablet for this) but for work purposes the screen resolution is as good as you could possibly need.
The not so good bits:
-The digitizer loses a bit of accuracy right at the edges of the screen. Though if you watch where the screen indicates the pointer is you can still hit all the icons near the edge of the screen with no problems
-32GB is miserly. OK so the 64GB micro card I put in is not that expensive but for a tablet running full Windows and Office 64 GB should have been the minimum available.
Overall the pros far outweigh the cons. If you need to work away from home/office and a 10” tablet is too big to carry around, this is a great tablet.

Amazon Customer says:
Useful though the stylus is, I would prefer to use a mouse for office menu selection, and similar.

You can use a Bluetooth mouse with the tablet, not sure if you can plug a USB one into the micro USB slot. I mostly use the tablet away from a desk where I couldn't use a mouse so the stylus is essential for me.
