Early days but looks good,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Kindle Fire HDX 8.9", HDX Display, Wi-Fi, 32 GB - Includes Special Offers (Previous Generation - 3rd) (Electronics)
Just unboxed and comes nicely packaged and this time includes a plug for charging - hooray!
No real instructions, prompts are on the device and all is pretty straightforward, especially if you have had the kindle fire hd .
Firstly was very impressed with the size and weight, no bulk at all, very slim and very light, if anything if feels lighter than the fire hd(old version).- dont know if it is. It feels comfy to me with one hand though.
All feels similar to the fire hd (old version) but of course with great new features such as cloud collections, mayday (as yet untested!), better screen res etc.
Set up so far has been easy enough and an on board demo tells you where things are.
Never nice to see- but this 32g has actual storage of about 25g, not too bad I guess but wish closer to 32g!
Feels nice to hold and the registration picked up the books, audiobooks and music amazon has on the cloud, so all efficient.
Web quick to load and picture quality sharp and clear.
Still much to do and will add to this
- adjust my star rating if i think need too - as I get more functions tried out but hope that helps!
*Great sound from speakers, similar to prev model but with added clarity I would say,and cloud collections have arrived and its great to be able to group books, apps and audio books that are in cloud via Amazon.
Email easy to set up, gmail, just took few mins, and that was for more than one account, so very pleased as was tricky before.
Auto brightness seems responsive and adjusts regularly.
Shame no doc editing but will look at apps in app store, not even office icon far as I can see on board machine, would love to be able to edit my exsisting word docs, is buying office pro best way? Found good freebie app now.
Buttons on back not problem, a little trickier for volume but okay.
Machine sleek and silk browser good so far.
Email very reliable
Paired to blutooth speaker.
Only real critisism is lack of manual, onboard one is very sparse.
Love the camera on this model and editing built in app. Can take a crisp photo.
wanted to tell you has fantastic swipe keyboard, auto correct does seem to correct where you don't want, even with the. Setting turned off but over all its easier.
Finding the machine very reliable though and battery time not bad, charging could be done every other day with quite a lot of use. The screen really is great, and the Amazon appstore gets better all the time mostly.

I am just using the built in keyboard, it is very good in my opinion.
Sadly think you can't attach an external keyboard, but the machine and how easy it is to write with it are brilliant I find.
*just been on a forum where it was talked about a Bluetooth keyboard, so maybe there is that function.

You should find that most Bluetooth K/Bs will work.
I paired the Logitech Ultrathin UK K/B with the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9".
Works flawlessly. This is a K/B which is specifically designed for an iPad.
Expecting my Motorola Xoom & Apple Wireless K/Bs to work just as well.
(If they don't then I'll edit this Comment).
Kindle HDX's Bluetooth also worked fine with Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones.
Great sound & good range.
