not exactly easy listening, but impossible not to listen to,

I have to admit, this is my favourite Pearl Jam album. But that's not to say that I think it's their best. Ten is blatantly their _best_ album, but I never play it - I don't have to; it's just good to know that it's there. No, Vitalogy has its flaws, but I love it, warts an'all.
I do, however, habitually skip the first two tracks, preferring to start with "Tremor Christ", which seems to me to be a far more appropriate beginning than "Last Exit".
I almost always listen to it the whole way through - with the exception of the first two tracks - and consequently each song segues naturally into the next one in my head. Every once in a while though, I do skip to a particular track, such as Betterman, Nothing Man, Corduroy or Immortality - arguably the best song on the album. I give it four stars not because it isn't brilliant, but because it's not as brilliant as some other things which I would give 5 (if that makes any sense).
