Over complicated and fiddly,
This review is from: Remington HC5950 Touch Control Hair Clipper (Personal Care)
First things first - if you get everything set up correctly, this works well as both a hair and beard trimmer but...be very careful what you're doing.
In theory, the touchscreen buttons should move the detachable plastic comb up and down to set the desired hair length. In practice, if you've unwittingly attached the comb without seating it perfectly in the guide rails (easily done) the damn thing appears to be adjusting (the digits on the screen change, it makes the right noises) but isn't. So the first pass over your head leaves you looking like Travis bloody Bickle. Assuming that's not what you're looking for, the old adage about measuring twice and cutting once is probably a prescient warning.
A few weeks later when my hair had grown back, I tried again. The thing was obviously unsettled by the previous experience and decided to overcompensate by extending the comb as far as possible, unbidden, every time the touchscreen was unlocked. It will grudgingly retract again as long as you keep your finger on the button but as soon as you let go, it extends again. The only workaround seems to be to lock the touchscreen the instant you release the button.
No doubt there are many products that are enhanced by touchscreen controls but I'd have to say hair clippers aren't one of them.
