"Immortality Bites" series book 2,
This review is from: Fanged And Fabulous: Number 2 in series (Immortality Bites) (Mass Market Paperback)
It is only a month since Sarah Dearly was turned into a vampire, but blimey she's managed to upset a whole ton of people, fall in love and constantly stumble from one potentially deadly situation to another. Book 2 of this light hearted paranormal series is no exception to the rule, as Sarah again inadvertently faces a life or death situation and manages to drag those she loves into her problems.
I like the story line, the relaxed style of writing and the majority of significant characters, but I find Sarah a little too ditzy for my tastes; she makes Mary Janice Davidson's vampire queen Betsy look positively staid in comparison. There are some nice little twists to the plot, and as always MR's finale is a wow moment of "I can't believe Sarah not only survived this, but she sort of saved the day". I think this is probably my main problem with Sarah; she faces cleverer, more deadly, powerful and vicious enemies, yet she always emerges as the unlikely victor. But despite this Sarah remains a likeable character; good natured and kind hearted until Thierry is thrown into the mix, and then she becomes somewhat irrational and prone to making the worst decisions ever. Sarah may not be a favourite leading lady of mine but her misadventures continue to entertain and amuse in the 2nd instalment of this series.
