This book is a very good read but also unbelievable as to what these brave men and women went through as part of there everyday life in the trenches. The mud, rats, fleas, bad food, cold tea, poor accommodation or boarding, no sleep, long marches, dead bodies everywhere, shelling, gun fire, rain, cold and still they went over the top to fight an enemy that lived in the same conditions with the same issues. I am still reading the book but it's so very interesting that I need to stop and think about how I feel especially sitting on a packed commuter train heading into London Bridge....... Please do read this book as it will bring home to you the true nature of the Great War and why it must not happen again.....
