Lovely book - slightly disappointing after Best of Bill,

I have fallen for Bill Granger since getting Best of Bill which is an absolute gem.
This book, although beautifully presented and very substantial, missed the mark for me a little.
This book is full of asian recipes which I am not hugely inspired to cook. Bill is pictured in the book looking very casual and gives a short introduction to each recipe - all very informal. A large proprtion of the recipes are described as making a comeback from the 70s and 80s. This does not inspire huge enthusiasm from the start. The recipes are easy to follow and the couple I have tried have worked very nicely - Thai green curry was lovely but looking through the book, I am not filled with the 'oh yes - I must try that' that I definately got with Best of Bill.
The photographs are gorgeous and it has a lovely feel to it. As a coffee table book, this is great. Maybe I am being a bit harsh but, having been so bowled over by the previous book by Bill Granger, I was a bit disappointed.
I will not be chucking my 15 year old remainder-book-shop Chinese and Indian books but I will dip into this book for some ideas if I am stuck.
