Another mean heroine,

I'm getting tired of the central female character in YA books being unnecessarily mean/bitchy because she has a damaged psyche that when healed will reveal her inner beauty that luckily her friends can see clearly but we the reader aren't privy to. Then we are supposed to believe that this really hot, charming guy just falls head over heels for her at first sight, I really liked Hunter but found Taylor so abrasive that I couldn't believe that H would keep putting up with her crap. I found the progression of the story too slow and the dialogue too clunky, it's a pity because I adore a good tale of irresistible attraction but in this case I just wanted Hunter to kick Taylor to the kerb as she was so unreasonable and unlikeable.....
