Blimey. Having cycled some of the route (Holland and Germany) I really enjoyed this book. How different people's views can be. I think you are missing the point though. The book is about the author getting over his travelling fears and personal tragedy. Not just somebody 'normal' like you or me jumping on a bike. I also checked, and Norway is 2,600kms into the route. Not a bad achievement for somebody with mental health issues.
