Never mind the price, two packets of cheap cigarettes, and not even a bottle of very ordinary scotch, I think: it may be low-priced but it is not cheap, if you see what I mean. And what do you get? A very very good Ring Cycle, well-played, well sung, dramatic, and well-recorded. No qualification necessary. I have virtually every commercially-recorded Ring, yes I am that sad, plus a few more off the radio etc: this recording is extremely competitive and there is no reason not to buy it.

Not sad! Enthusiastic! I am starting to build up a set of Rings myself. As it was said, you can spend a small fortune on books, CD's, opera tickets e.t.c. and yet never fully exhaust what Wagner has to offer. Terrific stuff.

Yes, you are right, of course. One should be proud of one's passions, not intimidated by them!
