Where's the guitar?,
This review is from: Irreplaceable (Audio CD)
Unfortunately, Mr.Benson seems to have aimed this new album at a newer, more 'hip' crowd, with it's slick R'n'B production and cheeseball lyrics. It's definitely not for anyone who loves the more old school funk grooves of 'the world is a ghetto' and George's superb scat/guitar playing. Believe me, I'm one of his biggest fans, I don't think there's a better jazz guitarist around, but I was soooooo dissapointed with this album. He doesn't even play guitar on most of the tunes. And I was so looking forward to listening to it. He's still the man, but this album? Steer clear. Sorry George...

Mr. P. R. Stanbridge says:
I agree with your review here. Did you note the comment at the top of the reviews regarding the US release - three guitar solo tracts! I'm not sure what we've done wrong in the UK not have to have this LP with no guitar solo tracks.
