4.0 out of 5 stars "The Siege" on BLU RAY - Compatibility Issues With The 'US' Disc - Buy The UK Version Instead..., 16 Mar. 2014
This review is from: Siege [Blu-ray] [1998] [US Import] (Blu-ray)
"The Army is a broadsword..." Bruce Willis says ominously in "The Siege" as the powers-that-be unwisely decides to bring the military in to control a city riot they caused. Cue inevitable casualties, much furrowing of brows and politicians pointing the big finger of blame anywhere else but at themselves...

Fans of this excellent thriller should note that the 'US' BLU RAY on 20th Century Fox is REGION A LOCKED so it won't play on our machines unless they're chipped to be 'all regions' (which few are).

Stick with the UK variant - it's a looker on the format and it's been in the '2 for £10' lists for some time now...

No - it came without the Slip Card. I find this now with some purchases from Amazon (especially if you use a third party seller which I ofetn do to get the best price). I've had two recently - "Stand By Me" and "Gandhi" on BLU RAY where neither seller had the card outer and forgot to mention this - yet used the card cover photo to sell the item.

To get back to buying from Amazon direct - it's very hit and miss after the initial release date because the card wraps are usually only on the initial run. In fact I prefer now at times to buy off eBay because I can see what I'm getting - or ask the seller questions so I know I'm getting the issue with the card outer. Many of them know they're worth more with the card and worth less without...

It's a game of asking I'm afraid. Hope that helps...

Probably re-certified for reissue on BLU RAY because of the violence levels in it (reappraised for reissue) - but i'd be guessing...
