Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Nintendo Wii U Pro Controller - Black (Nintendo Wii U) (Accessory)
I have no doubt the original product is of high quality and fun to use, unfortunately the one I got was a fake which refused to sync with my Wii U no matter what I tried.
The fake is almost identical to the original and has the Nintendo logos on both the controller and the packaging.
the easiest ways to tell that it's not original are that:
1. The included USB cable does not have Nintendo branding.
2. The fake has a silver colored screw on the battery cover as opposed to black on the original.
3. Some others have mentioned being able to sync the controllers, but then the analog sticks do not work correctly.
4. the packaging is "glued" together, at least it was in my case, i had to cut it open with scissors, something i have never before experienced with Nintendo peripheral packaging.
if you have any of these symptoms you might have a bootleg controller!
I originally bought it from LgameAcessory here on Amazon, but i have dealt with them many times in the past and thus i believe them when they said it was sold to them as original by their own supplier. in any case, i received a full refund after my complaint to them, which i then used to order a similar one but directly from Amazon.
Avoid resellers offering cheap prices, either pay full price or wait for a sale/price drop.
(as of now it's selling for 33£ which is a good price, i would think.)

So did you buy it from Amazon? Who was the third party seller? It would help others if you provided this information. Thanks.

hi there, well, i bought it from a third party seller here on Amazon UK called LgameAcessory,
they were extremely nice and instantly refunded the order when i made a complaint, they mentioned it was laballed as genuine by their own supplier.
in any case, i've since ordered one directly from Amazon, let's see how it is when it shows up!

the reason was that i bought it right here on Amazon under the pretext it was the _original_ controller and in new condition. if they marked it as non-original then i would have avoided it.

This is a PRODUCT review. You didn't have the product when you reviewed it, you had a counterfeit copy.
Your first action should be to *report the Marketplace seller to Amazon for violating Trades-description laws on their website*, not bring down the rating-average of a product you don't own.
