1.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for!, 22 Oct. 2012
This review is from: Hoover Smart SM1800 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner - 1800 Watt (Kitchen & Home)
My 3rd EXPENSIVE Dyson had finally given up the ghost 'just out of warranty'. Being in between pay day and cash flow...decided I was so desperate to vacuum my carpet I went for an 'affordable' vacuum cleaner. Hoover had a good reputation and my very old Hoover lasted me 20 years (int he day they made them out of metal!!) I thought I would give hoover another try. Vacuum arrived and it is very, very cheap looking. Think 'kiddies toy' quality. Ah well I thought, it was cheap. Tried to vacuum a large rug with it. It picked up the surface dust, only just. Had to go over it a few times. Used the hoover for 1 week and then it decided that it was all too much and 'died'. Hoover is consigned to the rubbish heap because it was absolute rubbish and a waste of £59. Couldn't be bothered with the warranty (a joke) as the hoover itself is just rubbish. Having been paid, I then went out and purchased a Meile following some good reviews for £250. Meile is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. Still going after 3 weeks...and I think it will keep going for a good while longer.

Seems as though you have more money than sense if you cannot be bothered to get the refund as it was within the warranty. If you were prepared to buy one for £250 what an earth were you doing even looking at cheaper ones in the first place. I hope you gave it to some deserving charity rather than dumping it in landfill.

If your carpet was fairly new (Wool) then it was probably getting clogged and just needed a quick adjustment

As for the Hoove Smart, I find it an excellent machine mine is going strong on any floor or carpet/

Getting a refund is not only of benefit to you but others too, if enough of these inferior products get returned, the company will investigate and hopefully do something about any issues
