4.0 out of 5 stars A MIXED BUNCH, 9 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Dear Life (Kindle Edition)
Alice Munro is a superb writer of short stories, and I would give her other books five stars with little hesitation. In this case, I feel the achievement is uneven. But there are some gems, too, for the devotee.

So which book would you recommend please?
Thanks

I'd totally agree with "a mixed bunch", but perhaps I'd add that it's actually much more bleak than her other books, and so perhaps not an ideal starting point for anyone. Stealing the question, I'd recommend "Runaway" as my favourite, but perhaps only because it was my first. I've enjoyed all the others I've tracked down similarly well!
