What's the story?,
This review is from: Morning Glory (Audio CD)
Well, it's not all good but it's not all bad.
It is rather annoying that the start of the album has a one second blurt of another track before "Hello" actually begins. However, that may be an error that's unique to my copy.
The multi channel mix is not life changing and won't ever be one that you use to demo your system to friends. However, it is interesting to hear the guitars unlayered, separated into individual speakers. Any Oasis fan who plays guitar will feel they've gained insight into how these songs were constructed in the studio.
In my opinion, the tracks that sound best on the SACD are the ones that aren't so heavily guitar-laden. The stand out is "Cast No Shadow". The strings sound glorious and managed to salvage my initial disappointment.
I love this album but it's a long way short of being my favourite SACD. If you're thinking throwing a bit of cash at this version, don't expect any physchedelic enhancement from the surround sound. I would say if you already have a CD or vinyl copy, there are probably better ways to spend your hard earned... but... if you're planning on starting an Oasis tribute band, this is an essential purchase!

Doesn't the album begin with a few seconds of 'Wonderwall' acoustic guitar, a couple flicks of electric guitar, and then into 'Hello' anyway?
