A good holiday read,

Pretty much sticks to SW's formula of Everyman in an unfamiliar and threatening situation and learning to deal with it. A good holiday read as the story is easy to follow, with no complicated stuff to remember to make sense, but one or two good plot twists. The storyline is written up elsewhere, so no need for me to repeat it.
You'll wonder who the good/bad guys are. Is Sarah's disappearance linked to Terry's new employment? Nothing is revealed until the last quarter. Not edge of the seat but entertaining. Difficulty in writing these novels is the intelligence of the audience - we are so au fait with criminology that you may end up wondering why the characters do what they do. This cried out to go to the FBI as crimes were committed across different states but Terry soldiers on, putting lives at risk. Suspend disbelief of these little devices and you'll have a happy read on the beach.
