The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo [DVD] (DVD)
I am not happy with this product. I purchased it believing it to be a genuine DVD. The cover looked genuine, however, when I opened it, it was obviously a copy as it was a blank disk with the name of the dvd written in felt tip across it.

J. Scott says:
Hi Anne - I was a bit miffed too when I rented this and thought I'd been sent an illegal copy. Then I noticed that the company had included a little sticker to say that the 'felt tip' WAS the actual disk - it was DESIGNED to look as if it had been copied by a hacker/pirate.
Daft idea, really, but it's the truth, 'cos I've checked with a friend who bought a kosher copy in Tesco, and it's exactly the same - designed to look like a copy!
But seriously, if you like this story and haven't seen the original Swedish version, do yourself a HUGE favour and get the full extended length box set. It really is superior in every way to the dumbed-down English remake.

From the Amazon product page:
DVD artwork on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
It has come to our attention that there has been some confusion on the DVD disc art as it appears to look like a bootlegged copy. Please note that the disc art is in fact the final approved disc art provided to us by the filmmakers. It features the handwriting of director David Fincher, as a homage to the character Lisbeth Salander.
