WELL PLOTTED ACTION THRILLER,
This review is from: The Murder Exchange (Mass Market Paperback)
As there are already 17 reviews I'll avoid a detailed summary of the plot. However, despite what one or two others have said, I found the plot to be quite complex and mysterious enough for me to want to read on.
My only drawback was that there were quite a lot of characters and I had to double-check who was who a few times.
I think the dual-first-person approach worked really well, as did the trusty countdown to discover which one of the protags' had a gun pointed at his head at the start, which was a great hook that stays in your mind to the end.
And in Iverrson we have a 'murderer' who, somehow, the reader sympathises with - a real heroic tough guy. I would like to read more about DS Gallan, too, who is worthy of another lead role or two.
Having read, Relentless & Deadline by the same author I must tip my hat in admiration to Mr Kernick.
If you want fast-paced, thrilling reads then your money's safe here.
