An incredible story,
This review is from: Seeing the World My Way (Paperback)I read this book with a sense of amazement that a young man who was totally blind and severely deaf could do all the things that Tony's done. He backpacks around the world on a shoestring budget, often choosing overnight bus journeys to save on hostel fees. He's made it around the world several times, and has visited every continent (including Antarctica, which you can see on his 'tony the traveller' website!).
I have my sight and hearing, yet I wouldn't dream of throwing myself at such adrenaline-fuelled adventures with the gusto that Tony has. He bunjee jumps and white water rafts without a second thought. His 'can-do' attitude is brilliant, and reading this book makes you wonder why you're sitting at home not travelling and seeing the world. All the way through, I thought - if he can do it, so can anyone!
Bravo, Tony Giles. Keep up the amazing travels!
