Good but not Great!,
This review is from: New Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo DS) (Video Game)
As the foundation for the New Super Mario Bros. series, this didn't set a flawless example for a new series of Platformers, it's good overall, but there are a few things that sit entirely right with me, for one, the level design does seem very odd, it seems to be sluggish & clunkey, the same with the controls, the collectables (i.e, star coins) are really badly hidden, almost as if there were no time for them & they were thrown in anywhere, & the power-ups are kind of strange, for instance, the blue shell suit is pointless, it's more annoying than fun, whilst dashing you'll suddenly transform in to a sliding shell meaning you cannot change direction or stop immediately causing it to be very unreliable, but one thing you cannot call this game easy, it presents a great challenge that doesn't get old & that has been lacking in most of the future NSMB games.

Mr. O. Benson says:
He was saying it's hard compared to the new ones, especially the ones on the 3DS which is why I'm buying this one for mine :)

i had a harder time on the wii version compared to this easy game
i'm not saying it is a bad game, i am just pointing out its lack of difficulty.
this is due to the physics of the game, in this game there is momentum, meaning that it takes longer to stop to avoid something. because of this, the obstacles are a bit more scattered, making the game a bit easy as the only difficulty is adapting to the physiscs
