This review is from: Greatest Hits III (Audio CD)
When you first look at the songs on the album, you see many familiar names from Volumes 1+2. However, apart from a few songs that are genuine Queen, you realise, that this album is there to tie up loose ends. The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, songs like The Show Must Go On, and Somebody To Love are from that performance. Driven By You, is a Brian May single.
However, These are the Days of our Lives, Princes of the Universe, You Don't Fool Me, Heaven For Everyone, and Let Me Live are all new and very enjoyable.
Thank God its Christmas, is also a very good song, probably one of the best Christams releases ever, and a handy so-called Bonus Track.
I would have given the album 5-stars, it certainly on its own merits deserves it, as most of the songs are excellent in their own rights. However, I opted to give it 4-stars because Another One Bites the Dust was a disappointing version, and because many of the tracks; Living on my own, Great Pretender, Show Must Go On, Barcelona, and others are on the Queen Greatest hits 1+2, and Freddie Mecury's Best of albums...
If you like Queen, buy it, if you don't like Queen, then you probably wont be reading this review, but if you are... this is the perfect album to buy to get your interest started.
