Shouldn't have been released! (in the nicest possible way),
This review is from: What's Your Damage? (Audio CD)
when I say this single 'shouldn't have been released' i don't mean it in the sense of being a bad song, but it's not the strongest song on the album and is not a suitable follow up to dancey 'Circle, square, triangle' and the Refuse/At-The-Drive-In-esque sound of 'Boa Vs Python'.
Infact I heard through the grapevine that the band desperately didn't want to release this as single and that domino records forced it upon them. As a consequence of this the band vowed never to play it again live.
As i said previously this is not a bad song, it has a catchy/powerful guitar riff and some nice melodies but there were much better options on the album for release as final test icicles single!! It's a shame when record labels refuse to let bands have creative control over their product.
'Your Biggest Mistake', 'Pull the Lever', 'All you need is blood' and 'Sharks' all would have outshone this song if chosen a single instead.
