A great idea spoiled by the final product,
This review is from: Mapping London: Making Sense of the City (Hardcover)
The history of London's maps is a fascinating subject, but sadly this book really doesn't do it justice. 80% of the publication is blank space whilst the captions to the illustrations are too brief to give any real insight into the maps they relate to. Also, the text is full of typos which, when there is so much glaring white page and so little text, does make you wonder what the proof reader (assuming there was one) was paid for. Really not worth shelling out the full price for.
