Pls can people recommend books for my 5 yr old lad who is supersenstive but very advanced (likes philosophy / anatomy / combustion engines etc!). To read together at bedtime for a very very bright little boy! Thinking of Swallows and Amazons but more suggestions would be great. thanks

J. Robertson says:
If you are still having problems you could try the Jackanory series of childrens poetry. I particularly liked 'Silver Apples', as my children enjoyed discussing the interpretation, as well as learning to read in rhythms. There's quite a lot of poetry that would fit the bill, and your son may like the hidden meanings, if he still likes philosophy. He will also probably enjoy learning the poems to recite. My son had Aspergers, and really enjoyed this aspect, although I must admit I wearied when he got a taste for war peons at 10.
