A good idea, but poorly edited, poor pictures and over priced
on 25 December 2014
Firstly, I just want to point out that this book is clearly aimed at the 6-12 year old reading age. It is not clear from the description as to who it is aimed at. The text size is vey large and makes the book seem even more childish. This is a shame as the tips in it are actually quite good.
The bad points:
All pictures are in black and white... Crazy when the text refers to pink sheep for example. Also they are very difficult to distinguish the details without any colour.
There are LOTS of typos in the book. This is clearly a "self-published" title with no editor input. It does not help young readers.
Page 52 - one way door with no way out. This has no explanation or details of how to create it.
There is little or no description of how to make many of the objects or contraptions. Little effort has gone in to the writing.
Overpriced for what it is.
The good points.
There are some genuine secrets and hints in here. As an experienced crafter even I learned a thing or two that I did not know before.
A nice idea, but needed a sub-editor to iron out the issues above before being released for sale.
