This is a series that has hit quite a few highs, but isn’t quite sure what space it is trying to occupy. Starting with a sniper as the main character, he has now turned into some kind of Mitch Rapp super-soldier. And the series itself is starting to nudge towards the space left by the sad loss of Vince Flynn. Lots here about the Special Forces trying to do the right thing but being hampered by politicians and those who seek to under-mine the good old US of A. This one has the gang assassinating a group that have supported and funded the bombing of a US embassy in Spain and the book tries to justify this with too many character conversations about the fact that what they are doing is right. “Coastie” is now a full member of the team and a welcome alternative focus but this does feel a little bit like it is struggling to derive complex plots and then slot a sniper into the story.

Having read and enjoyed the other Kyle Swanson books was happy to see the next one out, but did not think this was as good as the rest, but cannot really put my finger on why, possibly having just read the gabriell Allon series and comparing them this just did not cut it, still ok for a quick read though

This is very different to the usual Kyle Swanson books. The enemies are European based mainly but the storyline gets better as the book moves on. Beth is returned and is a welcome addition to the storyline. Different from the usual stories we have followed through the series of books but this could be to move Kyle to a new and different challenge with the next book.

Excellent read, not unexpected from Kyle Swanson, need more of his exploits. Keep up the good work. Cannot express how good this book is you need to read it to appreciate it, but you must start at the beginning of the Jack Couchlin books.

I read the previous books in the Swanson series and really enjoyed them however I felt this book lacked the plot or intrigue to keep me interested. A real let down.

Brillaijt book, engaging and a bit different to the rest of the series but definitely recommend. Read through it quickly because I wanted to know what happened!

I'm scared to ask them if there is another in the series? If there isn't how will I cope with a dull life?
A book full of excitement from start to finish.

A great fast paced book with lots of action and intrigue. The characters are strong and the book continues a great story. Looking forward to the next one.

Mildly entertaining if not rather simplistic plot. There is a danger of the main characters becoming rather wooden, if that hasn't happened already !

Great to have Swanson and Beth back in action together. Just when you expect the storyline to end it peaks again. Well written roller coaster
