4.0 out of 5 stars ROCK ICONS OF THE LATE 1960S!
In 196os, as rock mania gripped the entire world, music lovers filled venues, almost screamed their heads off, and fainted en masse, listening to the voice of their favorite artist, or watching them performed live. These stars were mobbed wherever they made appearances, greeted with loud screams, which made it impossible for them to even hear themselves sing. Wherever...

1.0 out of 5 stars Great if you want to waste your money
Very disappointing. I expected a well written and insightful book which revealed uncommonly known facts about the artists. However, I found the writing to be poor and the text revealed nothing more about the artists than what can be found on Wikipedia. The book also failed to take into account that John Lennon and Paul McCartney are English so they did not attend...

4.0 out of 5 stars ROCK ICONS OF THE LATE 1960S!, 30 Jun. 2014
Wherever they go, they unleashed a frenzy, the like of which seldom seen. These stars created a phenomenon unlike anything the world had ever seen.

In The Most Influential Rock Stars of the 1960s: The Lives of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison, the Charles River Editors, an independent publisher of thousands of ebooks on Kindle , Nook , Kobo , and Apple iBookstore & provider of original content for third parties, profile the lives of six of the biggest and hottest stars who changed the rock music scene like no other stars ever had.

But the impact John Lennon (1940-1980), Paul McCartney (1942--), Bob Dylan (1941--), Jimi Hendrix (1942-1970), Janis Joplin (1943-1970) and Jim Morrison (1943-1971) in the world of rock music is not confined and limited to the sixties, and it reverberates even to this day. The book pays homage to these stalwarts who turned the rock music scene on its head, and continues to defy time and space by spreading its influence even to the generation that was not born during their heydays. The book traces their childhood, rise to prominence, their music and the people who influence them. This is a keepsake book for all music lovers.

Very disappointing. I expected a well written and insightful book which revealed uncommonly known facts about the artists. However, I found the writing to be poor and the text revealed nothing more about the artists than what can be found on Wikipedia. The book also failed to take into account that John Lennon and Paul McCartney are English so they did not attend "kindergarten" and they caught the bus to school not "campus" while in secondary education. Would not recommend.

The information is great and indepth but the author does have a tendency to repeat himself; I end up paging back and forward because I keep thinking I'm reading the same paragraph over and over - sometimes I am but it's in another part of the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit like tabloid news reports, 4 Nov. 2014

It was OK to dip into but I am not sure I believed everything written and it was a little confused and "all over the place" on some of the stories. A bit like tabloid news reports.
