This review is from: Miracles in the ER (Kindle Edition)
The book is organised into short chapters, each covering one incident from the time the patient arrives in the ER to the resolution. Essentially, each chapter covers a so-called "miracle" the author observed - generally a near death patient who suddenly recovers and all is well.

If you are looking for a book about medicine - this is not it. The stories skip most of the medical aspect in favour of the miraculous recovery. As someone in the medical field, I found many of the stories overly simplified and was irritated by the lack of true explanation. Yes, sometimes there is no medical explanation for a patients outcome, but this book doesn't even try. If you want a nice feel-good book about sick people getting better, then give it a go.

It is an American book with quite a strong religious undertone (complete with occasional bible passages thrown in) which initially put me off, but becomes less obvious as the book progresses and is easy to skip if you are so inclined.

Overall this wasn't what I was looking for. I have read many wonderful books giving insight into the medical profession, but sadly this is not one.
