after reading Bridie Mc Mahon, a book i loved, i could not wait for the sequel. it came just in time for my holiday read. it continues Bridies and Alfies story. william and laura fall in love, but he has secrets that she at first doesn't know about. will she discover them, i wont say, dont want to give away a 'spoiler'.
Countess of Brindlecot is wanting change for the poor working classes, but ecounters trouble. this book is amazing. it contains all the emotions, hate jealousy fear and pride. the terrible workhouse and the fears of the poor people who dread having to go into it. it made me cry at times.
i loved every chapter of this book, showing the divide between the classes. it is every bit as good as Bridie McMhon, a compelling sequel. i dont want it to end here, i would love to see it as a trilogy. many a late night followed reading beneath the lilac tree. me saying " i will just read one more chapter" . this book is suitable for many genres. historical, family saga, young and old.well done Marion Fellows, you played a blinder with the ending.. i hope your busy writing your next book. recommend to all, five well deserved stars. this book could also be a stand alone book, but i also recommend Bridie McMahon first.

I loved this book - the second one continuing with the life of Bridie Mcmahon. It is a real page turner and kept me up quite late at nights because I couldn't put it down. I recommend this book even if the first book 'Bridie Mcmahon' hasn't been read as its superb as a stand alone book, with past references explained when required. The ending of the story was brilliant and I really hope Marion publishes a third book , making a trilogy of stories about Bridie Mcmahon and her life and family. Marions ability to write a novel is wonderful and I wish her every future success with her writing and she is definitely one of my favourite authors.
