I am halfway through this book and having read all of Ann's books I have to say it is one of the best yet. I have all her books and they are all brilliant but I am especially enjoying this one. There is no other true crime writer who can make you feel privy to the inside story - almost like you are there as a fly on the wall. She is adept at describing locations and people's backgrounds and character and I find this part of her books just as fascinating as the crimes themselves and the varied motivations for murder. The main story here is about the mysterious disappearance of Jerry Lee Harris - a self made millionaire and is truly interesting. There is also a selection of shorter true cases which are excellently written too.

I have read many of Ann Rules books, but it seems that either I am too familiar with her work, or she is well past her best. The stories are not of particular interest and the writing hardly holds one's attention. I think I shall have to give up on her, as it seems she just churns out mediocre fare these days.

As ever Ann rule?delivers good?interesting crime novel with some? Good supporting tales as usual marred a?little by the strict differences between the police goodies and criminals baddies a little too simplistic for reality but well worth a read

Have read afew Ann Rule books and this is one of my favourites. I read a stranger beside me and got a bit bored, too much rambling but didn't get bored with this one. Also enjoyed the other short crime stories in the book

A thoroughly good read. Plenty of detail as always with Ann Rule books, once started I couldn't put it down.
