Really enjoyed this book and jogged many a past and happy memory. Also, many games I never knew existed. If you have any interest in the Amiga then this is a must!

Well presented and beautifully written this is a fine guide to an under appreciated genre. Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in the Amiga.

Way before the Indie games and apps stores scene hit the mainstream market of today, Amiga had its only little world for independent game makers, it was called the Public Domain Scene and many hidden gems could be found in this market, this book looks at some of the best. Great read.

This book is an absolute must-have for any Amiga fans out there. There is a wealth of content on offer regarding the area of games production at a time when it wasn't so easy to do so for most people. Some of the games written about in here I had never heard of, some I had forgotten about and got a great nostalgic buzz from reading about them, others I knew very well. A superbly written and enjoyable read with some very interesting hints at things to come for amiga p.d.

An excellent work showcasing an often overlooked side of the Amiga and 90s gaming. The Amiga's public domain scene allowed individual programmers to get their games out there, games they'd made for fun rather than profit, distributing them for no more than the cost of the disks usually, and offered some truly innovative and great alternatives to the commercial titles of the day. This book offers a good introduction and insight into this alternative gaming scene, plus there's some great games featured, brought back some good memories. I remembered a lot more of them than I expected I would, also many of the ones I haven't played it's made me want to track them down and have a go. If you owned an Amiga I'd say this book is a must have, and I'd also recommend it to anyone interested in gaming history in general as the public domain scene was one of the first examples of indie gaming in action. Given that this book is going to cost you less than you'd pay for a typical mobile game it's definitely worth picking up.
