A bunch of teens (including a very young David caruso.) head out into the middle of nowhere in their van. This being the early eighties and an explotation film naturally there is something out there looking to kill people. Unlike the ususal drooling backwoods pervert this time its an alien hunter that sees humans as its prey. The alien remains unseen for a large portion of the film (which doesn't stop Scream factory sticking it right on the cover) and throws what can be only described as 'spunky shurikens' at its prey which sprout tentacles and burrow into the skin.
The film has a stella cast including Martin Landau playing a demented war veteran, Jack Palance as a grizzled hunter, Ralph meeker, Neville Brand and Cameron Mitchell in the opening scene as a hunter. The films moderately gorey and well directed by Greydon Clark who directed another alien based film The Return a few years previously. Four people worked on the script including producer Daniel Grodnick who also produced Terror train the same year. The alien itself looks somewhat bizarre but the whole film comes together as a charming and very entertaining oddity that comes highly reccomended.
The usual caveate about region locking and scream factory discs applies here which is sad. The film has been completely unavailaible for years. Nevertheless, now i've bought it im sure Arrow will announce a release in the near future. If you can play region A releases then this is a worthy investment of your time and money.

What more could you wish for?
Jack Palance, Martin Landau, Neville Brand & Cameron Mitchell all in one wonderful slice of 80's video horror fodder.
Enjoyable cheese -fest which is still head and shoulders above some of the rubbish that is currently doing the rounds.
So sit back and just relive the halcyon days of slice & dice science fiction cinema

Wow, haven't seen this for over 30 years. So grateful it got released! Always loved Martin Landau from his 'Space 1999' days, so great to see him here in a totally different role. Such a versatile actor, as is Jack Palance (also great in 'Hawk the Slayer'!). Great low-budget alien invader movie. Love my movies with a side of cheese ;)
