It has been a very long time since I have read something new that grabs my attention. I started to read An Unlikely Duchess and found myself caught in the spell woven by Nadine Millard. I read the whole book in a single day - I found it impossible to drag myself away from it - literally pausing for food....and that's it! Ms Millard describes the longing and depth of feeling between the 2 main protagonists so clearly that I felt I was a true witness to their romance rather than a reader of a book. I thoroughly enjoyed the historic references and gorgeous imagery used. I had purchased her second book, Seeking Scandal, before the night was out.

After reading An Unlikely Duchess, it's hard to imagine that this is a debut novel! I am very impressed at how well it was written, it seems as if the author has been writing for years. An Unlikely Duchess was a wonderful Regency with the right amount of suspense mixed in (which I LOVE)! Nadine shows us that no matter who you are whether you're super clumsy or a little inappropriate at times, anyone can be a Duchess. I loved this book and I can't wait to see what Nadine has in store for us next! She has a very bright future ahead of her! If you like Regency or even a Suspense Romance, then you should definitely read this book!!!

Hey Natalie Jago here... From the moment I started reading.. I was captivated. It had everything Romance.. Humour... Alongside a brilliant story line that was quite realistic.. I found myself giggling at many parts as I reckon there is a bit of Rebecca in alot of us... Thoroughly enjoyed and looking forward to "Seeking Scandal"... A fantastic read...

Anyone who enjoys Regency Romance will love this book. Rachel is a magnificent character who makes you laugh out loud with her antics - shame that there isn't a sequel but then how can you surpass this?

Absolutely loved this book especially the character Lady Rebecca.... She is the kind of Lady that I would definately have wanted to be if I lived back in those days.... and I actually found myself laughing out loud a lot when reading this and can't wait for the next book.... Definately worth 5 stars. Well Done Nadine Millard, Great job!

I loved everything about this book! It's not my usual read but it really had me gripped from the beginning to the end. I look forward to finding out what lies ahead for these brilliant characters!

I read this book with a smile on my face from the start, I can't express how much I loved it. My son wanted his tea cooking in the middle of reading it and I tried to convince him he wasn't really that hungry! Bad mummy. I downloaded this for free ages ago (bargin for me!) but have only just got round to reading it - shame on me. I would recommend this book to any one who loves a good regency book and a warm feeling inside, go on I dare you not to fall for Rebecca and Edward! FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY THROUGH!

Unexpectedly I really liked this book . I read it whilst on holiday and had to buy the two sequels whilst I was away to see how the stories of the extended family finished. By the way you can read all three books as stand alone stories. For a period tale there are no swooning heroines and the leading lady has plenty of character and actually had me laughing out loud at some of her antics. A very enjoyable read.
